Trigger Point Release – An Introduction Workshop

Saturday the 18th of April

Tension, pain, and muscular contractions in the body are often connected to specific trigger points. These points can create blockages in blood flow and energy circulation, contributing to discomfort and restricted movement.

Muscle tone can present as either hypertonic (overly tense) or hypotonic (flaccid) or even collapsed. A hypertonic muscle tends to resist acupressure, while a hypotonic or collapsed muscle may withdraw from touch.
Understanding these responses is essential for working safely and effectively.

Releasing trigger points can also awaken stored emotions, behavioural patterns, and survival strategies held in the muscle memory and surrounding fascia. The body often carries unprocessed experiences, and conscious touch can support gentle release.

In This Workshop You Will Learn:

How to apply acupressure to trigger points in a safe, connected, and client-centered way

Massage techniques to relieve tension and fascial pain in and around trigger points

How to sense and identify trigger points in the body

The use of intuitive touch

The relationship between pain, muscle tension, and emotions

The most common and “typical” trigger points in the body

By the end of this workshop, you will have a deeper understanding of trigger points and body awareness, and you will feel confident applying these techniques in your professional practice.

A certificate for participation will be handed out.
